Way Down Deep In the Deep Blue Sea...

Today was so exciting for both myself and the boys. To top off what has been a great summer Robbie/Grammy (my mother in-law), the boys and I headed into Atlanta to visit The Georgia Aquarium. Evidentally, lots of people had the same idea because it was packed. Nonetheless, both boys were stoked to finally get inside and "see the big fish". The looks on the boys faces when they saw some of the massive sea life were priceless. Will's favorite was definately the Baluga Whales. They really put on a show by doing tricks in the tank. Logan really enjoyed seeing the shark.

The boys liked the waterfall!

Will wanted to know more about each fish.

This massive Manta Ray came right up to the glass.

The boys just couldn't get enough.

Before we left the aquarium, we had to visit the gift shop. Grammy bought Will a Baluga Whale and Logan a Clown Fish. The boys had so much fun that they both fell asleep shortly after leaving. Thanks Grammy for joining us on our first aquarium adventure.

Monday, the boys and I attended Story Time at Oak Leaf Church Cartersville. We started off the morning with a special request for smiley face pancakes from Logan. Today would be a special day at Oak Leaf. It was Pajama Day! As soon as breakfast was over, Will put on his Spider Man PJs and Logan chose his Pooh and Tigger ones. After everyone was ready, we headed to Cartersville to meet Will and Logan's friends Maddie and SoSo (Sophia).
Story Time was so much fun. Ms. Mary played music and the kids all sang and danced. The boys were cracking me up.

Finally, Ms. Mary read the book, "I Don't Like to Go to Bed". The story reminded me of my two boys when it comes to bedtime.

After the story was over the kids all sang and danced some more. It was a really fun morning for all of us!

The Oak Leaf Canton Core Team began having weekly worship service on July 25th. Billy and I have the opportunity to host this service in our home until we can get a bigger space. Will Goodwin lead the music and the lesson was viewed online from the Cartersville Campus (House of Rock).

On July 24th, Oak Leaf Church Canton had a pool party and served the community of River Green Subdivision hotdogs. We also took this opportunity to invite people to church. Everyone had a great time and we are looking forward to the next community project.
Billy is "The Grill Master".

The boys enjoy their two favorite things...the pool and hotdogs!

Our trip to the mall...

After Will's shots we went to the mall for "Back to School" clothes shopping. The boys like to eat in the food court and ride the escalators. They can never resist the little kids rides at the mall so we took a few minutes to drive the "FUN BUS".

Logan finds him a friend at Old Navy.

This is the only dog that Logan will volunteer to get his picture made with.

Wednesday, Will had to finish up his shots for Pre-K. It wasn't the best time I have ever had but we got through it and he is doing well. After his shots he was excited to get Buzz Lightyear and Woody stickers. We are up to date and ready to start school on Aug. 9th. I can't believe my little Will-Man is starting school this year.

Logan got in on the action with some stickers himself. He chose T-Rex and Buzz & Woody!

Needing a weekend from our weekend...

Friday night, Billy and I joined some of my closest college friends and Phi Mu sisters (in Brookhaven)to celebrate National JHudg Day (aka: Jenny's 30th Birthday). It was so good to see all of them again. It has been way too long.
.
On Saturday morning, we met the OLCanton Core team for a time of prayer and inviting the community of Canton to our new Oak Leaf Campus. After that the group headed to Ballground for a cookout at the Goodwin home. It was a great time of food and handing out with great friends.

Saturday night, we headed to the Cartersville Country Club to attend the surprise 40th Birthday party of Kenny Westmoreland. There was a DJ and the boys had a great time dancing with all of the older kids. Kenny's cake was a replica of his fishing boat. It was AMAZING!

Will does the Cha Cha Slide.

Early(4:00am)Sunday morning, the Oak Leaf Church volunteers geared up for our second preview service. I am so excited about what God has planned for the city of Canton. I am proud to be a member of a church that leads people from where they are to where God wants them to be.

Logan loves church at the theatre.
Will likes getting paint on his clothes and face.

After church, we headed to Uncle John & Aunt Deb's house to visit and swim. We met Uncle Derrick, Aunt Sis, Kendyl & Kole there for an evening of swimming and homemade ice cream. I was so proud of both of the boys. Swimming lessons really paid off. Will was jumping off the diving board and swimming to the steps with no arm floaties. He is such a big boy. Logan was swimming to the bottom of the shallow end to get toys from the bottom. We had a great afternoon.

This week has been so much fun! The boys have had swimming lessons and I have been very impressed with the progress they both have made this week. This time last year Logan would hardly get in the water at all and now he is going under water to get toys from the bottom. Heather Hayes has done a fabulous job with my favorite little fish.
